Misleading Billing Practices

When I initially subscribed, I believed I was enrolling for a single license priced at $14.00 per month, with an annual billing amounting to $180.00. However, I was unaware that my subscription actually included three licenses, totaling $540.00 per year. It was only after receiving an invoice the following day that I discovered the true cost, leaving me unable to cancel within their designated timeframe. Despite canceling my account, the company has declined to reimburse me.

In response, I have lodged a complaint with both the FCC and the FTC, and I am currently disputing the charge.

"Absolutely no support provided. The scripts are completely broken. It feels like a blatant attempt to grab money."
They will inform you that your storage is full, regardless of whether it actually is or not. Even if you only have 5 music files in your folder, they will claim that you have used 99Gb out of your 100Gb.

It would be comical if it weren't so disheartening. Moreover, there is absolutely no customer support available. You cannot reach out to anyone via email to address your concerns; your only option is to ask questions in a Community Forum where everyone is equally confused and dissatisfied.

Box.com is a complete scam, plain and simple.

"The integration of Box with Google Workspace is not functioning properly."
Box offers a higher level of security compared to most Cloud organizations, which is why we decided to purchase their services. Unfortunately, we have encountered numerous issues with their Google Workspace integration and their support has been extremely limited. We had previously tried Box about five years ago but left due to poor support. However, after experiencing a security incident, we decided to give it another chance, hoping that their support and product had improved.

To our disappointment, this was not the case. Despite the advertised features, we have been unable to open any Google documents in Box, and their support team has been unable to resolve this issue. Furthermore, receiving a timely response from them that doesn't waste hours of our company's time has proven to be quite challenging.

Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Box to anyone. Despite the product not functioning as advertised, we have been denied refunds and are still waiting for assistance from their technical teams. If you thought software companies were problematic before COVID, they certainly haven't improved!

**EDIT** I have managed to solve the problem with a simple workaround that their technical team should have checked as a basic first step for anyone facing this issue. I am more than willing to assist anyone with this solution!

I feel completely tricked into subscribing to a box account and have been charged for it for more than a year now. I genuinely have no need for their service, so why on earth would I have agreed to it in the first place? It's entirely my fault for not being more attentive.

"You will never be able to eliminate them completely....."
If you want to unsubscribe, it's not an easy task. Despite not using their services for years, I suddenly started receiving emails from them. Trying to unsubscribe has been a frustrating process, as they require you to go through multiple channels instead of simply clicking a button. Moreover, their responses never address the actual request. I specifically asked to be unsubscribed due to not having an account anymore and wanting the emails to cease. However, their response was simply, "I can confirm that you don't have an account with us."

"Thieves"
Thieves! They have stolen 90 euros from my account. I never received any confirmation regarding the payment that was going to be made, nor did I receive any notification indicating that I would be charged for anything.

"I canceled my order, but I was still charged for it."
I registered and entered my credit card information for the trial, but quickly realized that it wasn't suitable for my needs. I then attempted to cancel my subscription through a complicated process on their website. I reached out to their customer support directly and they assured me that my "membership" had been cancelled. However, to my surprise, four days later they tried to charge my card $540.00 for a 3-person team, even though I am a single user. Luckily, my card was locked at the time. I contacted them once again, and after numerous emails, they finally responded saying that as a "courtesy," they would cancel my account and not charge me again. Well, alright then.

"This customer service is absolutely terrible!"
This is hands down the most TERRIBLE customer service I have ever experienced! If you're hoping for any assistance, forget about it, because they'll just lead you in endless loops after pocketing your money, and your issue will never be resolved.

This cloud storage service provider is okay, but it offers only basic features. It is probably too expensive considering what you get in return.

I want to caution you that if you choose to auto renew, there will be no refunds, not even if you cancel on the same day. This feature seems to be designed more for the company's benefit, as it allows them to make more money from you, rather than for your convenience in quickly reviewing and approving another year of service.

"This user experience is an absolute joke."
The user experience is absolutely dreadful. It feels so cumbersome. Attempting to view an album on a mobile device is a complete nightmare. Simply trying to navigate to the next page is laughable. There is no efficient way to organize the content.

"I received no response after making a sales call regarding the free non-profit package."
I reached out to Box a month ago to inquire about setting up a business account using their non-profit package. I had an online video call with a sales representative, which went smoothly. The representative recommended a mid-range paid package and assured me that it could be set up by the end of the day.

Subsequently, I sent an email expressing that the free starter package would be the best fit for our initial needs. However, despite sending two follow-up emails, I have not received any response in the past 3, nearly 4 weeks.

While it could be a mere coincidence, it is not ideal that I stopped hearing from them as soon as I mentioned the "free option." I kindly request Box.com/org to reach out to me in order to finalize the setup.

"In general, I am extremely satisfied with Box."
First of all, this review is about Box.com cloud storage and sync, which can be identified by the logo. It seems that one or two of the other reviews are actually about a completely different company.

I have the Free version of Box installed on my laptop, as well as the Android app, which gives me 10 GB of storage. Once I added the phone app, they generously provided me with an additional 5 GB.

I primarily use Box for transferring files between my laptop and phone. Gone are the days of dealing with cables; the sync process is quick and flawless.

When using Box on my PC, it opens in Windows Explorer. This allows me to easily create folders, copy and paste files, move or delete items, and perform other tasks. In my opinion, it is superior to Drive, and the added bonus is that it's not affiliated with Google!
